Sculptor Manuel Franke granted at the Kunstakademie, Düsseldorf, Germany, E´cole National Supérieure des Beaux Arts, Paris, France and completed his education at the same place at the Institut des Hautes E´tudes en Arts Plastiques with Prof. Pontus Hulten and Daniel Buren in 1992. He has been resident artist 2003 at Villa Massimo, Rome, Italy and showed in several European galleries and spaces and in Australia. In Frankes work, the autonomous image, space and in his site specific installations, apparent opposites seem to meet quiet easily: Soft and hard, light and heavy, density and transparency do not exclude each other but co-exist in carefully balanced tension. Frankes recent work in public space, “achat” (2001-2016), covers the Metro Station Graf-Adolf-Platz in Düsseldorf, Germany.
